Safe and easy to use, this two stage knife sharpener requires nothing but some easy strokes to keep blades sharp. Its V shaped cutting head with two crossed carbide blades puts a fast edge on knives. Simply place the gadget on a flat work surface and hold the E Z grip handle with one hand and the knife handle with the other. Put the knife blade completely into the slot at a 90 degree angle to the sharpener and pull down and back three or four times to sharpen. This sharpener works very well on all my knives and is easy to use. It doesn’t require that you maintain a twenty degree angle it does it for you. Also it does not require oil or water. You just swipe the blade through some times and that is it. It is really perfect.

I knew that my sharpening steel expertise weren’t ideal. I was able to get a sharp blade but it did not seem to hold long. When I saw that Wusthof had a sharpener, I knew it could be worth having. Already knowing the quality of their merchandise, I was certain this could be the same.

After passing my knives through some times, the sharpness was back. No fuss, no muss. Easy to hold when placed on the counter and no angle to figure out.

The only down side is that there aren’t information or advice included. I do not know if this should be used every time I want to sharpen my knives or just sometimes. As well, I question if I’m sharpening my scissors properly since I had to figure it out on my own. Possibly the Wusthof website has more info. Otherwise, it’s great.

I have been using honing stone and I’m also proud for being able to sharpen all my knives with the stone except for the serrated ones. Then I gave this thing a attempt and wow ! it works, steadily and with ease. When using a honing stone, it’s hard to preserve the correct edge angle, and this device takes the guess work out. A friend of mine thinks his buck knife is sharp till he reset the edge with Wustof’s stage one carbide edger , then hone it with the stage two ceramic sharpener. Then he has been surprised with how his “new” knife shred paper like razor. Then we tried with the scissors and learned that the specially shaped slot should prevent one from inserting the scissors in a wrong way right handed and left handed scissors. Quality is great. Comes with non slip padding on the grip also as some number of other sides so you may be able to grip it and hold in down on the counter top in some number of positions/ways steadily.

Downside is that it’s a bit pricey. There are cheaper ones out there which I believe could work likewise but could most likely lack the little quality touches here and there.

I really like all the features of this Swiss Army Knife. It was cheap and really has many of useful tools. Many tools not mentioned above filled into this knife include:

Needle near the corkscrew

Micro Small Screwdriver inside the corkscrew

Metal saw

Wood saw

These things come in really useful in the tackle box or glove compartment in the car. They also really work well hiking/backpacking/camping or unpacking or whenever a quicktool is obliged.

A great knife at a great value with a great warranty.

Swiss Army Champion Plus which isn’t as good as the plain Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife but is priced at $17 less. I had earlier bought the Swiss Army Champion Pocket Knife which has a pair of minipliers that work also as the common hemostats for fishing. That’s the only difference that I can see between the two models. Given that gold handled hemostats are available for under $5 at most fishing stores that could make this the better purchase but this isn’t the top of the line that the name implies. So four stars for this Swiss Army Swiss Champ Plus and five stars for the Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife.

I generally wondered what the hook thing is for on the other side of the knife from most of the other blades. After a little research I found it’s for carrying stringed packages or grocery bags and really changes the knife into a comfy carrying handle instead of having it feel like you are losing a finger at a knuckle.

I like this specific Swiss army knife because it has a bit more than the standard knife. As a botanist and biology teacher, the hand lens was used many a time to examine detail on a moss or beetle. The saw is great for camping, also as collecting specimens. Also, you have all the basic useful gadgets you need on a knife: screwdrivers, scissors, nail file, tweezers, etc, also as your basic, essential knife blade. I have had one of these for over 25 years, and used it on five continents and for a hundred picnics. My only complaint is that as a lefty, food/muck can get lodged in the grooves of the handle when you use the blade e.G. Cheese, bread crumbs, etc. I use the toothpick to clean it up, but a annoyance still.

I bought this as a gift for my father and one for myself. We both love this tool. It doesn’t replace a big socket set totally, but it does replace 90 of the socket use I have. The sizes they have on this are by far the most usually used sizes. The build on the things looks high quality also. It may be a bit tough in really tight places where racheting is vital, but in general for most applications this does the trick. It’s nice to not have to search my sockets for the right size. It’s all in one here, so no chance of losing them. A great idea from Black and Decker!

This tool is a great idea, but the B&D variant is not a great tool.

The problem is that it tries to fit both SAE and metric sizes. While there are some sizes that are close 19mm and 3/4″ are inside 1, 16mm is about 5/8″, most of the sizes aren’t. That means this wrench is sloppy on nearly every fastener. The looseness joint with the flat six point sides puts pressure on just the info, leading to rounded nuts and screw heads.

I still see the possible of this design. Craftsman has individual tools for metric and SAE, and I have put the metric one on my Christmas list to see if that variant lives up to my hopes.

In my home shop, I have a range of power tools that require height and tension modifications and use machine bolts and screws for that function. I like a clutter free shop and on occasion the have to have a ratchet and a few of sockets out is a bit annoying, this item helps alleviate that.

As advertised and already listed, this wrench has 16 of the most recurrent socket sizes installed on one hand tool. I can dial the socket size I need and not have to usually pull out a socket set. I do work on my lawnmower and I also take separately, store, and pull back out furniture things that use nuts and bolts also. Could I say that this one tool could replace a mechanic’s tool set? No, most likely not. But it does make life a little easier for me. If I have to perform any car fix, I do have my ratchet sets. If I’m under the car and in hard spots under the hood, a ratchet still is the best choice. It may ,however, be quite useful as a breaker bar.

Special things be aware of

1. The sockets are six point and not the cheaper twelve point variants. For those that are unfamiliar with the difference, professionals will use six point sockets because they have less of a tendency to round over bolts. Twelve point sockets can do many of damage to a screw when applied with too much torque. I’m happy they went with the higher class sockets.

2. This tool, in most situations, will decrease the need for deep sockets and will decrease the total of times you have to use a wrench instead of a socket. On occasion bolts are long and when you try to use a socket, the socket is too short to fit over the screw. I run into this when assembling and disassembling my kitchen table. I have to use a wrench because the socket bottoms out on the screw before touching the nut. The way this is intended, the screw most times could slide through the socket on the reverse side, allowing the socket to grip the nut firmly.

3. Only complaint of this tool and not really a big one is that the 45 and 90 degree stops for the sockets don’t lock. There’s a stop for the angles, but not a full locking system. Throughout high torque situations, this may make for more difficult situations. This is where the choice of using six point, rather than twelve point sockets is a big factor.

Rating: NOT for Special Edged Blades
With most Wusthof ‘Scalloped’ blades, shows them as “Frequently Bought With” this sharpener. If that is there are many of wrecked, costly knives out there as this should never be used for any ‘non standard’ edge!

I think Wusthof has a costly grey, metal bodied sharpener of alike look which WILL handle their “Bread” &amp, “Tomato” knives, etc.

However, Their abroad employees seem to feel so exalted by the Wusthof old repute that they not deign to answer E Mail quiries. This looks a common indication of USA employees of ‘hi class’ German companies.

My sharpener worked like a charm for the first two months yielding razor sharp blades. But now, after five months total handling, the edge comes out barely satisfactory the Chineese carbide sharpening ‘plates’ are obviously wearing out which was bound to happen sooner or later but in no event should happen so soon $20 wasted!

Rating: Hassle Free Knife Sharpener
This sharpener is simple, still very efficient. Just slide your knife through the coarse side some times to sharpen the blade, then slide through the good side to hone and straighten the edge. Performs a professional quality knife sharpening without the annoyance of the conventional knife sharpening methods. Scissor sharpener is an added plus. I use this sharpener to keep my blades and scissors in pristine condition. Great investment for anybody.

Rating: Get it, then Use it
This is so fool proof. I bought my Wusthof Classic knives about 15 years ago and neglected to care for them properly shame on me. This cheap, must have tool rescued me from my poor culinary behavior. Now my knives are working as they did when I 1st bought them. I am also faithfully using this for the new great Prix two knives that I newly bought. I repented and will never work with dull knives again.

Rating: Best sharpener I have found
This Wusthof sharpener is the best, simplest sharpener that I have found. Being an outdoorsman also as an enthusiastic amateur in the kitchen I indeed tried all types of sharpeners.Electric, hones, ceramic sticks, Lanskky system, etc. This sharpener puts a sharp edge on a chef’s knife and keeps it there. I have had no problem with gouges on the edge as portrayed in last review. At this price, how can you go wrong?

Rating: Wonderful for knife maintenance
Before this product, I had gotten the Furitech Diamond Fingers sharpener for my own knives, as I am silly and am not sure how to use a sharpening steel properly.

However, I would not mind to get this one for myself soon. I had gotten this for my mother as an easy to use product to go with nice J.A. Henckels knives. This Wusthof sharpener is nice because it has both a “coarse” side, for 1st stage sharpening when they are really dull and a “fine” side for finishing when it is not that dull, or it is been through the coarse side already. It gets the knives nice and sharp.

Secondly, there’s a scissors segment although my mother does not have kitchen scissors, this could be nice if I had it as I have a knife set that has kitchen scissors. I am really tempted to just switch our sharpeners, as my mother really uses hers so rarely.

The Tri Angle Sharpmaker will include two sets of high alumina ceramic stones: A pair of medium grit brown stones for violent sharpening and a set of good white stones for professional grade finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening Plainedges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges serrations on the corners. Included is a set of brass safety rods defending the users hands while sharpening. All parts snap into the self contained ABS plastic base and cover prepared to travel with you. Die cut into the base are keyed slots and holes fitted for the stones. They precisely set the stone’s sharpening angle at a 30 15 each side or 40 20 each side for knives and a 12.5 scissor setting. Turn the base over, a channel allows you to lay two stones side by side flat side up for use as a benchstone. Rating: Not perfect, but a good product
I bought this Spyderco sharpener many months ago, and so far it was useful. I own some knives and use most of them on an rare base.

That said, I decided I should not neglect any of them, a safe knife is a sharp knife. I never really used a sharpener before and a whetting stone seemed a bit more than my clumsy mitts could handle. So this seemed an evident choice. I was at 1st off put by the apparently high price, but I figured it could be a good investment since my roommates’ and I own some blades some of the pocket knife range, other of the kitchen and cooking type.

I’ve had the good fortune to sharpen many blades, most of them being my roommates’. I can say certainly that this sharpener works well to single or double edged knives. The only issue you will have for most of these is if you’re trying to sharpen a tanto edge. I have found this hard, but it isn’t impossible. Serrated edges are no problem at all. They’ll continue to cut and function normally that is, you may be able to still “saw” with them when necessary though you may find that because they’re sharper, they’ll slice much better than before.

I do have one knife that is seemingly impossible in my hands to sharpen. It is a Smith &amp, Wesson HRT model SWHRT9B boot knife. It is got a rubberized covering but after grinding that off, I found the metal underneath to be tolerant to holding an edge. I am not sure I can fault the sharpener on this, but I am having a hard time justifying it on myself or on the blade as it came with an unbelievable edge from the factory.

I have not attempted to sharpen anything other than simple knives, but if that is all you have to sharpen, I can attest that this will work beautifully unless you own a Smith &amp, Wesson knife, it looks. I greatly recommend it to the novice and to anybody else who is need of a good sharpener for many knives. If you have to sharpen one or two knives, the price and relative complexity of this sharpener can be a bit extreme.

Rating: More than I expected
I have a basic idea of how to sharpen my knives on a stone and am pretty successful most times Fairly Successful. I thought that this goed to be another product that was more or less a gimmeck attesting to make me better at something quicker than putting in many of time and experience. But, the Spyderco name is why I decided that this just may work. Lo and Behold, it’s better than projected. The included video is a useful beginning and my 1st attempt was more than just a good try. Rating: Sharp as a tack and twice as sassy
I cook many, and have spent upwards of $400 on many of my knives. Newly they have been starting to lose their edge, enter the Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker!

I did many research and this one caught my attention caused by it is price for the number, and quality of stones you get. Sharpening a knife isn’t rocket science, the most vital part is that the tool you use to sharpen with, be harder then what it is sharpening. I have used cheaper knife sharpeners before and my good quality knifes could really cut the sharpener, instead of the sharpener honing the edge.

The procedure was simple, and once you get used to the motion you’ll want to sharpen everything in your house. All of my knives and scissors are now razor sharp. It’ll take many time to get used to though, the total of pressure you use particularly seemed to be my biggest learning curve.

The bottom line is that it works, and it is easy to use.
