The price point on this fan is its most nice feature.

But two things are worth knowing about this fan:

1 The tilt feature simply does not work. The fan was bought at a local “big box” three days ago. From the outset, it was not possible to lock the fan’s angle into position, which means that the air flow can not be directed. The fan apparently directs itself, the only certainty being that if it stays in position long enough for you to take your hands from it, it will rock back.

2 though it has three speeds many other fans offered at this price have only two the top speed isn’t at all powerful. One wonders if Honeysacrificed strength to get relative quietness. Myself, I will tolerate a low roar to get a little wind power.

The low power could most likely be more tolerable to me if it were at least possible to control the angle. But it is not. If this had been bought through Amazon, with Amazon’s simple return policy I surely could returned it. But it is not worth the annoyance of dealing with the “big box” so it will most probably get passed along to the thrift store.

Over the past not many years, I have bought four of these fans. Criticisms about its restricted swiveling capability are warranted, but it does a respectable job of circulating air. One of the four fans I received was dead on arrival would not turn on, no juice, but was fast to replace it at no charge. If I have to cool a small area at some point, I could not hesitate to buy another.

I bought this fan knowing that other reviewers had a problem with the pivoting fan head holding the selected position. I hoped that this condition had either been fixed, as it’s a Honeywell, or it wasn’t as bad as indicated by other reviewers. It hasn’t been fixed and it’s every bit as bad as indicated by others. Also, as I had the fan on a GFI outlet, I found that, when opeating the ON/OFF fan speed switch from one position to another, it opened the GFI outlet shutting off the fan. The fan was returned to Amazon.

It moves air quite well and isn’t too noisy considering how powerful it’s, but the angle modification on it’s quite frustrating on occasion. I attempt to set it on my desk and blow it straight horizontal, and it naturally is most stable when blowing upward, so on occasion it’ll slip. There should be many kind of angle locking system or something on it. Other than that, it was cheap, free shipping, and usually gets the job done.

I’m very impressed with this extra small desk sized fan. It creates a nice strong breeze that may be felt from some number of feet away. The lowest setting creates a pretty breeze, if you have papers around or need another calm fan this is most likely not a good choice. For me though, I like the white sound it creates and in the hot, wet Florida summers, this is a nice way to cool off without having astronomical power bills.

I bought one fan for each of the bedrooms and can now increase the temp on my A/C by two degrees and still it feels cooler than it did before.

The fan may also be wall mounted and the fan’s angle clicks into secure settings so you do not have to worry about it rotating up or down. The power cord appears to be around six feet long.

I greatly recommend these little fans for portability, space, and usefulness. Those wanting an oscillating fan rather than a fan that only blows in one direction should think about Honeywell HFT114B Oscillating Super Turbo High Performance 3 Speed Fan.

We just bought this today and it’s great. We had a Holmes Pedestal Fan that just gave out after about ten years. It’s down in our basement and looks to cool down the room nice. It’s on low speed now and feels great. We are not way across the room but on the high it looks to put out a good breeze, not an industrial speed but great for a regular room. We bought it at Walmart for $39.99 + tax so I would not purchase for more.

This is the 5th Lasko tower fan I have bought. I got one for my brother, my son and my grandma. It’s calm, which is awesome for my OCD brother who hates deafening sounds. It has amazing cooling power, which helps my son who does not have AC in his room. And my grandma who can not walk loves that she can control it with the remote. The tower design lets you to put it anywhere and it seems nicer and has more power than a stand fan.

This is a great fan, calm but powerful. I use it typically on the medium setting because on the high setting it’ll blow your socks off. The rotating action keeps my wife and me cooled. The remote of course is convenient.
